Kids

I am definitely a kid at heart. Nothing can melt my heart like a kid can. I was a childcare counselor and then childcare director for the local YMCA while I was in college. It was by far what got me through the toughest part in my adult life. If I could, I would go back and work for them for free. I stayed there longer than any job as of yet.

One of the cool advantages of having a camera at all times is that you are ready to shoot at any given time. I, like most people in America, like to frequent the local Starbucks .. and I have to say that is an understatement. I've met a lot of different, cool, eccentric and powerful people at THE Starbucks. A lot of biker guys too. One of them is Adam. He got married a few years back and now is a father of the cutest little kid, Michah.

Here's some shots I took of Michah one morning before a tennis match...

I typically shoot full manual, but for this one I shot aperture priority. I used my Canon 55-250mm IS and opened up the aperture all the way to get that shallow depth of field. It was early in the morning so the light was just perfect.

We'll be seeing more of this little girl on future posts.

  1. As the grandfather of Michah -- I see you have VERY good taste. I also find your website very informative!! I have aspirations of taking decent photos and find your work inspiring. (I also have a bike but consider myself a motorcylist not a biker -- unlike my son!!
